Coparoo's custody calendar: days color-coded by parent and today's hand-off

The essentials

The daily work of a divorce,
in a single app.

It’s not the feature list competitors lack — it’s engineering quality. Coparoo delivers the same core set with a flawless, fast, truly iOS-native experience.

01

Shared custody calendar

Color-coded custody days and ready-made patterns (alternating weeks, 2-2-3, 2-2-5-5). The calendar never changes one-sided: a swap request is applied only after the other parent approves, and the whole history is logged. Reminders go to both parents.

02

Secure messaging

Once sent, a message can’t be edited or deleted; it’s server-timestamped and protected by a hash chain. First-viewed receipts end the “I never saw it” argument. Topic-based threads keep school, health, and vacation separate.

03

Expense tracking and splitting

Receipt photo, category, and percentage split (50/50, 60/40, or custom). Acknowledge / dispute / settled flow and a live balance summary. Records lock once the other parent has responded.

04

Child info hub

School, teachers, doctors, medications, allergies, sizes — the same facts in both homes. A document vault for report cards, prescriptions, and official papers that both sides can always access.

05

Tone assistant

When you write a harsh message, it suggests a calmer rewrite before you send. The analysis runs entirely on-device; your unsent drafts never leave your phone and are never logged.

06

Record export

Messages, calendar history, and expenses turn into a PDF report for the date range you pick.

Verifiable records

“This PDF might have been tampered with” — closed.

Every report embeds a server-generated SHA-256 digest and timestamp. When the QR code at the bottom is scanned, a verification page shows third parties whether the report matches the original records on the server exactly.

Admissibility of evidence varies by jurisdiction; Coparoo promises not “evidence in court” but a verifiable record.

Immutability
Messages are append-only; the edit and delete paths are closed even in the admin panel.
Chaining
Each record carries the digest of the previous one — any insertion or removal is detected.
Neutral clock
The timestamp comes from the server, not the device.
Encryption
ID numbers, health information, and documents are stored encrypted at the application layer.
Address leaks
Photos’ GPS/EXIF data is never shown in the other parent’s interface.

Solo mode

Works even if your co-parent won’t join.

Event log, missed exchanges, expenses, and documents are kept even on your own and can be turned into a report anytime. If the other side joins later, the shared space opens; your solo records stay in your private space.

What we won’t do

No ads

Ads on sensitive data are a trust killer. Your child’s data is never sold or opened to advertising.

No constant location tracking

Location is stamped only at the moment of a hand-off check-in, with mutual consent.

No social feed

This is a tool, not a place to kill time.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

Short, factual answers on pricing, evidence, solo use and privacy.

Is Coparoo free?

Yes. The free plan includes the custody calendar with swap approvals, sealed messaging, expense logging and one child profile, and both parents can join at no cost. Coparoo Premium adds unlimited children, document and receipt uploads, PDF reports with verification codes, the tone assistant and read-only access for a lawyer or mediator. One Premium subscription covers both parents, and your records stay readable if it ends. In the United States it costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year; prices vary by country.

Can the records be used in court?

Coparoo produces a verifiable record, not a legal ruling on admissibility. Every message is server-timestamped, append-only and hash-chained, and every PDF report carries a SHA-256 digest and a QR code that opens a verification page showing whether the report still matches the original records. Whether a court accepts it depends on your jurisdiction; ask your lawyer.

Does it work if my co-parent won’t join?

Yes. Solo mode lets you log events, missed exchanges, expenses and documents on your own and turn them into a report at any time. If the other parent joins later, the shared space opens and your solo records stay private.

Can messages be edited or deleted?

No. Once sent, a message cannot be edited or deleted by either parent, or even by Coparoo. Each message is timestamped by the server and linked to the previous one, and a first-viewed receipt records when the other parent opened it.

Which custody schedules does the calendar support?

Ready-made patterns cover alternating weeks, 2-2-3, 2-2-5-5, 3-4-4-3 and alternating weekends, and you pick the hand-off time. Color-coded days show who has the children. Custody days change only through a swap request that the other parent approves, and the full history is kept.

How are expenses split?

Log an expense with a category and an optional receipt photo, choose the split (50/50, 60/40 or custom), and the other parent acknowledges or disputes it. A live balance shows who owes whom, and an entry locks once the other parent has responded.

Is my child’s data private?

Yes. Coparoo shows no ads, never sells or shares your child’s data for advertising and does not track your location; a location is stamped only when both parents check in at a hand-off. Sensitive fields such as ID numbers, health notes and documents are encrypted at the application layer, photo GPS/EXIF data is never shown to the other parent, and deleting your account deletes your data.

Which devices and languages are supported?

Coparoo runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later and is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Dutch and Turkish. There is no Android or web version yet.

One subscription covers both parents. Your data is always yours.
